Planmeca is pleased to announce its first handheld intraoral X-ray device. Planmeca ProX™ GO offers space and time-saving chairside efficiency to both traditional clinics and radiology rooms as well as mobile dental clinics, nursing homes, and emergency situations. The new device will debut at IDS in Cologne on 25–29 March 2025, with an eye on a later sales launch beginning in the U.S. market.
Press release Mar 28, 2025
Planmeca ProX™ GO combines high image quality with outstanding usability and productivity. The device’s fixed 70 kV and 3 mA tube as well as 0.3 mm focal spot offer quality images for accurate diagnostics and informed decision-making. At the same time, its intuitive user interface and well-balanced design make the device straightforward to use, hold, and aim. The elegant design reflects Planmeca’s trademark sleek and streamlined look and feel.
Weighing in at just over 2 kg, the device is lightweight, compact, and completely installation-free, making it the ideal choice for operatories where space is tight or where fixed installations are otherwise not an option. The long-lasting battery life enables up to 300 exposures in a single charge, and the device can also be shared conveniently between operatories, eliminating the need for multiple X-ray devices.
Chairside use further enables a faster imaging workflow as well as improves both patient communication and comfort, as the professional user can stay in the room and explain the imaging procedure as it happens. To ensure robust patient and user protection, the system comes with both internal shielding against leakage radiation as well as an external backscatter shield against scattered radiation.
As with all Planmeca imaging devices, Planmeca ProX GO also combines seamlessly with the renowned Planmeca Romexis® all-in-one software, which offers a full range of tools for dental diagnostics and treatment planning. Just turn on the device and GO.
“Planmeca ProX GO represents just the kind of creative thinking and flexible, future-ready solutions that we want to bring to the dental industry,” states Timo Müller, Vice President of Planmeca’s X-ray division. “There is a real demand for versatile portable products like this, which enable high quality imaging in fast-paced and changing environments, such as busy clinics, mobile operatories, and emergency situations. We’re truly excited to be bringing yet another tech and usability innovation to dental professionals all over the world, starting in the U.S. market.”
Planmeca ProX GO will be introduced alongside other Planmeca product innovations at IDS 2025 in Cologne on 25–29 March (hall 1, booth A30−C39).
