Does your local legislation or quality assurance require recording the exposure parameters for each patient image? Planmeca ProSensor® HD allows recording the parameters automatically in images taken using the Planmeca ProX™ intraoral X-ray unit. Now this feature is available for Planmeca ProScanner® 2.0 as well.

The actual exposure parameters used with the Planmeca ProX™ intraoral X-ray unit can now be recorded automatically with the DAP information in Planmeca ProScanner® 2.0 images. The feature has previously been available with our Planmeca ProSensor® HD intraoral sensor, but we are pleased to announce it is now available for Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 users as well.
In e.g. Germany, recording the patient doses for intraoral X-ray images is mandatory as per local legislation starting 1 January 2023. According to § 114 (1) no. 2 of the Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV) in Germany, the person responsible for radiation protection must ensure that an X-ray device is only used on humans if it “has a function that electronically records the parameters that are required for establishing the exposure of the person examined or treated and that is electronically usable for quality assurance.”
By connecting the Planmeca ProX device to the Planmeca Romexis® software using the Planmeca ProX connector box, the actual exposure parameters from the imaging unit can be automatically recorded in the image when using either Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 or Planmeca ProSensor HD. As of Romexis version 6.4.3, the feature is also available to Planmeca ProX users who use Planmeca Romexis and a 3rd party imaging plate scanner with TWAIN drivers.
The feature is enabled with a software update. Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 and Planmeca ProSensor HD are supported in both the Windows and macOS operating systems.
