It does not even make sense how much I use my Planmeca Emerald S intraoral scanner. I am using it every day, scanning different bites and crowns. It is an outstanding device and super intuitive. Paired with the reliable workhorse that is our Planmeca PlanMill® 30 S milling unit, it takes about 45 min before my clients have their crowns. These days, I actually prefer doing indirect restorations because they are quicker, more comfortable and cost-effective than traditional fillings – both for me and my clients. Although I have over 15 years of experience in chairside dentistry, we have come to the full digital workflow only in the last couple of years. The introduction of digital impressions and 3D printing was surprisingly easy thanks to Planmeca devices. Once the Planmeca Creo® C5 printer is installed, it requires no further calibrations. Producing accurate models and surgical templates is incredibly easy and fast.
