The Planmeca CORE™ algorithm enhances the contrast and details in panoramic images captured with the SmartPan™ imaging system of Planmeca Viso® and Planmeca ProMax® 3D imaging devices. With Planmeca CORE, valuable details like PDL and lamina dura can be seen more clearly.

Implants, fillings and interfaces clearly visible

Regardless of whether the patient has implants or dental fillings, all interfaces can be seen clearly in the panoramic images thanks to Planmeca CORE. The algorithm reduces artefacts resulting from metals or dense materials for optimal results and clear visibility.

Natural and distinguishable bone structures

In the panoramic images captured with Planmeca CORE, all bone structures look natural and different types of bone structures can be distinguished from each other well. Any possible changes, anomalies or fractures in bone structures can be seen even when they overlap with air ducts. For example, temporomandibular joints, ramus and the inferior borders of maxillary sinus can be seen well.

Adjustable image processing

Planmeca CORE includes three pre-processing strength options to choose from. With these options, you can easily adjust the look of the panoramic images to your preferences.

Panoramic 2D imaging with a 3D sensor

There is no need to change sensors when alternating between CBCT and panoramic imaging, as our advanced SmartPan™ imaging system uses the same 3D sensor for 2D imaging. The SmartPan technology of Planmeca imaging units combined with Planmeca CORE is the perfect combination for daily panoramic imaging.
